Vilamendhoo resort Maldives
Vilamendhoo Resort Maldives is a famous divers paradise, and is located in the South Ari Atoll, almost 80km from Male airport.
If you look at the picture above you can see this is a long narrow island, it is positioned in a pass on the outside of the atoll and has a deep channel on both sides, with a very lively reef surrounding the whole island which is perfect for snorkeling and diving as a lot of nutrients are squeezed through such a narrow gap as the tidal currents run in and out of the atoll.
There are a total of 154 rooms, with 13 standard bungalows, 131 superior bungalows and 10 deluxe bungalows, all are on the beach and have open air bathrooms and thatched roofs. The main restaurant has international cuisine and Italian specialities and it can also offer vegetarian meals if required. Also there is a resident doctor on the island.

Vilamendhoo is famous for its Manta Rays and Whale Sharks that visit the area at certain times of the year, and can be so prolific that I have heard stories that the dive masters can get bored spotting them??
